My most favorite wedding!

Posted August 14, 2015

Why is this my most favorite wedding? Because it was my very 1st.

img_2543I knew Denny & Joann from the area years ago. In Fishtown , everyone seems to know one another just from living here. Joann previously booked me for a pregnancy shoot with her family, I absolutely fell in love with this couple!

They were adorable together, denny was very protective and attentive with her. She seemed to adore him, as her eyes told everything. After the baby was born, we did a new born shoot, and a year later the infamous “cake smash” for her daughter Alivia’s 1st Birthday celebration.

I was completely honored to be asked to photograph their upcoming wedding! I was also a bit nervous, I have never shot a wedding as the main photographer (always a 2nd shooter). I was confident in getting great shots, but never knew of the time line, what to expect, how wedding day plans actually go. I geared up, watched every video I could find on wedding business courses, you name it I watched it! I didnt want to just wing it, I wanted to be fully prepared, professional and for Joann and denny to fall in love all over again every time they look at their photos. I was grateful they trusted me with this hugeee 30+ wedding party.  Most of my 9 years experience is in portrait, boudoir, vintage inspired, and weddings as a 2nd photographer. This was my 1st and Im incredibly excited for it.

The wedding day was magical, I was high on adrenaline and the nervous love that was in the air. Joann and her bridesmaids came to Blush to get their hair & makeup done. I did Joann’s makeup for her wedding, and as soon as I was done I started snapping some photos.  It is pretty convenient to have your wedding photographer, stylist & makeup artist all in one place! The ceremony and reception was help at  Celebrations, a beautiful place with plenty of room. I searched the day before for grounds to do our bridal portraits. We stumbled across a state park with a mini log cabin and tall grass that seems to frame every photo! The Flowers were made in house by Blush florist Jennifer adams, and 2nd Photographer Jess Badgley.

I absolutely loved photographing Denny & Joanns wedding, it was fun, energetic, adorable, and perfect. I couldnt have picked a better Bride & Groom, day, location, time of year as my 1st actual wedding.  I am so honored they asked me to capture their love in front of their family & friends. I realized that I didnt just capture moments, but heirlooms that will be passed down through generations and family trees. How perfect!

Here is the slide show of their amazing day! Enjoy!
